Maryland Gov. Wes Moore and Lt. Gov. Aruna Miller addressed the House of Delegates on Wednesday as the annual General Assembly session started.
“By the time we get to Sine Die, the people will know that we all came here and we got the work done on their behalf,” Moore said.
“The governor and I look forward to working with all of you,” Miller said. “It’s going to be an exciting 90 days ahead of us.”
As the new legislative session begins, Maryland faces a looming nearly $3 billion budget deficit. Wednesday morning, Moore announced $2 billion in cuts for his upcoming budget proposal, according to his press secretary.
